1) TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND?
I'm from the Philippines; I've lived here all my life. Here it's either really hot, or really rainy-- so I spend most of my time indoors. I'm a Filipina by blood (I'm often mistaken for Korean/Japanese/Chinese), and I thrive best in an urban/suburban environment. My mother paints really well, and so does her mother. I guess I got my artistic genes from them-- except that I can't quite handle paint.linha
2) HAVE YOU HAD ARTISTIC STUDIES AND WAS IT USEFUL FOR YOU?
Aside from the typical high school art class-- no, I haven't had formal artistic schooling. High school art class was fun (at times), but it's probably not the main proponent of my artistic ability. :) linha
3) HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN YOUR STYLE OF ILLUSTRATION?
My art style dislikes rules, rulers, measurements, borders... linha
4) WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE TO CREATE YOUR ILLUSTRATIONS?
I normally use traditional felt-tip pens (Artline, 0.1 and 0.2) on plain old bond paper. When I use the pen tablet, I work with Photoshop. But I'm not every good at the digital drawing thing. linha
5) WHAT ARE YOUR CREATION PROCESSES?
I take in everything beautiful that I see. I daydream about lines and curves and the organic structure of plants. I get a clean white sheet of paper, and a felt-tip pen that hasn't run out of ink or had its tip flattened yet. I put the pen to the paper and I let my daydreams out.
